Welcome to Hello, Cloud Newbies! – a blog interviewing Cloud Computing professionals from around the world! We are here to show fellow Cloud Newbies (is this you?) what it’s like to work with or in Cloud Computing, and how there are A LOT of different job titles.
While many people associate working with the Cloud ☁️ with job titles like Solutions Architects, Software Developers, and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), there are actually hundreds of different jobs that require the knowledge of, or use of, Cloud Computing services.
Take me, for example! I generally don’t work IN Amazon Web Services (AWS) very much, but I work WITH AWS every day! I am a Technical Writer and Technical Instructor, teaching Cloud Newbies the fundamentals of Cloud Computing and AWS. (You can check my work out at Intro to AWS and AWS Newbies.) . I write technical blogs, teach online courses, create communities… And I would not have known that a job like mine existed in the ecosystem of Cloud Computing, if I weren’t living it!
Cloud Computing can sometimes look like a nebulous storm cloud – dark and mysterious – but it doesn’t have to! I strongly believe that if you are interested, there is a career path for you, even if you don’t have traditional technical backgrounds.
Choose your Path!
So if you are a Cloud Newbie, interested in potential Career Paths in the Cloud, please start browsing the interviews we were privileged to have!
If you are a Cloud Professional, and would be up to getting interviewed, we’d love to have you! And the more eccentric your job, the better! 😉 Know someone who would be a great fit? Feel free to nominate them, and we’ll get in touch to see if they’d be interested!
Please shoot us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll get back to you ASAP!
